Welcome back to the voting gallery Mia! Beautiful, as ever. Love the flock of stingrays in the background. Can I ask what the symbolism is this time?
Thanks Joey :)
She's a somnambulist, so she's been sleep-walking for years, and her dreamscapes have created a habitat around her. I love the metaphor of being submerged in sleep because I feel that way a lot, so I used it for this series of paintings (including the Snow White piece). The jellyfish and manta rays are dangerous but also beautiful, there is mysticism and music in her dreams-- the pipers, flutist, and fortune teller, and spirit/sprite/face whispering in her ear. This is one of the best examples in my work so far of one of my characters becoming an environment for everything else in the painting, which I thought was kind of cool. :)
great work, mia.
Mia...nice to read your explanation of the work, makes me look at it differently, but that is what I love about your work, every time I share it with someone they see something i haven't seen, they get something new. This for sure is a favorite piece!

Amazing once again! I think I actually enjoy this one more than your last piece... I like the brighter colors!
