Ray Frenden is an illustrator from Earlville, Illinois whose graphic line-art centric work is reminiscent of old horror flicks or a comic book from the 1940's. Frenden's work centers around terrifying, grotesque mythological creatures with rippling biceps; blood, guts, and putrefaction; and the violent battles between men, beasts, and robots. Among his stated influences he cites pulp stories, comics, and Ray Harryhausen's legendary stop-motion animated film, King Kong.
