Can you tell us about this piece?
Every piece I create is an experiment. Sometimes I just freestyle and other times I have an action plan. I loved this look so much I focused on the style for a bit and completed a set of yummy space graphics.
If you were to describe your art to someone who’s never seen it, what would you say?
I’d describe it as eclectic, evocative, and with a range of color pallets. I use mixed mediums: photos, illustrations and scanned sketches.
What’s your creative process when producing a piece of art?
My creative process when producing art depends on what kind of medium. Sometimes I have a distinct image in my head. Either it turns out like I thought or sometimes it takes on a life of its own and looks like a completely different image than what I thought up to begin with. Other times I will start a project having no idea what the end product will look like and I completely wing the entire thing. I’d say my best pieces are the result of freestylin’, and are very emotionally driven.
Could you share an image of one of your latest sketches?
A motion comic I’ve been slowly working on. Her name’s Siris.

What’s the art scene like where you live?
The art scene here is great! It’s more hidden, not as flamboyant as I’d like it to be, but maybe that’s why it’s so special. There’s great talent here! I’m always meeting new artists: graffiti, traditional, musical, and digital. It’s very inspiring. There’s always a lot of collaborations going down all the time. The art scene I’m into is mostly driven around the music scene. You’ll see graffiti artists doing large pieces for DJ backdrops, digital art for posters, and animations and motion graphics for visuals which really set the mood for the show.
What’s hanging on your walls at the moment?
A couple beautiful pieces from South Africa, vinyl records painted by friends and myself; at least four canvases I have done myself. Some, like always, are still unfinished.
What are you really into right now?
Spray paint and acrylic drippy messes on canvas and urban-style characters.
If your art was music, what would it sound like?
Electronic, hip hop, funk and dub step. Music that is completely dedicated to heavy bass.
What’s the first picture you can remember drawing at a child?
The first picture I remember drawing as a child was a horse. I was hiding under the dinner table at my babysitter’s house when I was around four years old. She was so impressed she didn’t even get mad at me.
If you were a dinosaur, what kind would you be and why?
T-Rex because it’s big, friendly, and loud!
What are your vices/guilty pleasures?
Ice cream.
If you had to change careers, what would be next?
My next career would be a hip hop dancer or I’d be in some sort of freak show.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m working on lots of animation and motion graphics for visuals and some just for fun.
What’s your motto?
Be your true self and don’t put too much pressure on yourself to succeed. Be true to yourself maintain good intentions and love everyone around you.
