Can you share a little bit about the piece and how you conceived it:
The story behind this peaceful picture is not so peaceful at all. One day I had a dream about a family in white spacesuits sitting around a table. It was a normal family dinner scene. Father is starting to slice the turkey and behind the window there is a huge atomic blast. Autumn To Come is a variation on the same subject. The boy is outside for the first time and he has the family robot with him for protection. His father told him that not a single animal has survived and only plants can live outside after a nuclear war. The particular moment depicted is the discovery of an earthworm. It is the new beginning for earth fauna. The picture is for an Art-Book with scenes of everyday post-apocalyptic family life.
What’s your creative process when producing a piece of art?
Usually I start with some low resolution (1200×1200px) square in Photoshop. Then I make a few sketches on different layers and after that I decide which one is best. Then I make more and more detailed sketches. After that I start making the illustration directly in PS or I switch to Painter and work without layers directly on canvas. The final touch is always Photoshop with Illustrator elements. Voila :)
Could you share an image of one of your latest sketches?

Would you share three unique things in your workspace that inspire you? (Photographic evidence welcome.)
