About

Rachel’s earliest known contemporary piece was created at the age of 7, where she laid out the outline of a giant beast using string and got her mother to take a photo of it eating her head. It wasn’t long until she moved into the digital realm, painting portraits of CBBC TV presenters on MS Paint and receiving signed photographs from them as a reward.

Her father was a commercial photographer and so she had access to Photoshop from an early age, where she spent sleepless nights wondering what a ‘Vector mask’ was and why it was getting in between her and her square. She continued to develop her traditional and digital skills but felt the pressure of having to take a more academic and safe route through life. Thankfully, being academic didn’t work out all that well so she was able to revert back to her original plan: to study Games Art & Design and become a Concept Artist.

After recently graduating with First Class Honors in May 2011 she began looking for small freelance work as a designer, where she has created illustrations for newly growing independent comic, game and film companies in order to further expand her portfolio. By continuing to blossom as a freelance designer and concept artist she hopes to one day work for a renowned games studio.

Favorite Artists James Jean, Jeff Simpson, Francis Bacon
