Almost There!

I’m Matt Thomas, art director at Automattic, where I’ve worked on the design of nearly everything the company does, like WordPress.com, WordPress.org, WordPress for iPhone, Prologue, WordCamp, and the new visual design of WordPress 2.7 (just to name a few). My first design gig was designing text-only web sites (optimized for Lynx!) in 1994, while a freshmen in high school. The web design thing stuck, and a few hundred sites later, it’s still what gets me out of bed in the morning. I was raised on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay in Alabama, where I live again today with my trusty sidekick, Maggie.

What are your virtues?
Obsessive attention to detail, a diplomatic style, always holds the door open.

What are your vices?
Talks about politics way too much, able to eat a week’s pay worth of sushi if given the chance, nocturnal lifestyle means I’m likelier to be at work at 3AM than at 9AM.
