Can you share a little bit about the piece and how you conceived of it:
There is something about the time, the light and the landscape here in Caracas, that makes me see these incredible characters wandering by the city. So I decided to take some pictures of the views I see everyday from my apartment and office and I played around with adding these characters on my Wacom.
If you were to describe your work to someone who’s never seen it, what would you say?
Innocent, a bit childish and a bit selfish. Trying to be simple, but ending up complicated.
What’s your creative process when producing a piece of art?
I freestyle almost every time. When I don’t improvise, I try to gather quotes (from music lyrics, books or movies), process them, sketch them, and then paint them physically or digitally.

Would you share three unique things in your workspace that inspire you?
Claro vale:
My tree. I call him “Umbrella” and he is my main source of inspiration

What’s the art scene like where you live?
Elegant, shy, politically influenced and amazingly beautiful.
What art is hanging on your walls at the moment?
A painting by Venezuelan artist Patricia Van Dalen and Argentinian artist Paula Otegui. Also, a piece by CacoUno. Some photos by Gabriela Villalba and a lot of designer vinyl toys.
What are you really into right now?
Should I answer that? Haha. Well besides that, I’m really into learning Japanese, watching Lost, (because I’ve finished 24) and my architectural designs.

If your art was music, what would it sound like?
Salsa, I think. I like to listen to Sigur Rós while painting, but I don’t know if it looks like that… I surely hope so!

On my laptop I have a Jeremy Fish piece called SNAIL CANCER.

Infectious, Society 6, Facebook, Youtube and Guasacaca Express.
What are your vices/guilty pleasures?
Chocolate, Nutella, Pirulin, watching movies or a TV episode every night with mi gente, a little bit of this a little bit of that, people watching, sleeping a lot, hanging with mi chica, and last but not least eating a nice arepa pelua.
If you had to change careers, what would be next?
I would have to say a paleontologist.
Are there any upcoming shows or projects you’d like to share?
I’m trying to organize a show for a recent series of drawings called ANIMALS (Are They or Are We?), it’s a set of 34 pieces. Let’s see how that goes.
