Can you share about the piece, any inspirations, how you came up with the concept?
I just wanted to draw something that I’d like to see on my laptop. This particular contest theme was a good opportunity to try something that would blend the artwork with the hardware in a clever and seamless fashion. Since Apple is known for being techie and also known for catering particularly to audio/video designers (and also because of its audio influence due to the iPod), I wanted to take advantage of the Apple logo light to illuminate a cute sci-fi chick who happens to be wearing headphones plugged into the laptop as if she’s listening to iTunes.
If you were to describe your work to someone who’s never seen it, what would you say?
It’s mostly sexy chicks.
What’s your creative process when producing a piece of art?
I start with a quick rough sketch, then refine it with a slow rough sketch, then go over it with a slower sketch, then go over that with refined lines and then go over that with… well you get the idea. Basically just refine, refine, refine.

What’s the most extreme reaction you’ve ever received in response to your work?
“This looks like something from Playboy” in a negative connotation.
What’s the art scene like where you live?
Almost non-existent as far as I know. I don’t know any other really good artists locally. But then again, I don’t really get out much.
What art is hanging on your walls at the moment?
Some Ugetsu Hakua wall scrolls, a Claymore anime poster, and a few cool prints I picked up from Wizard World Texas a while back.
What are you really into right now?
I’ve been listening to the movie The Big Lebowski while I work a lot lately— not watching, just listening to it. The scene in the Limo where the Dude’s blathering always gets me, lol.
What would be on your quintessential mixtape?
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia soundtrack, Ikaruga soundtrack, Saya no Uta soundtrack.
