WILL THE WALL DECALS DAMAGE MY WALLS?
They will not damage the paint on your walls. Though if your paint is already damaged and chipped, then we obviously cannot guarantee and are not responsible if the adhesive affects your paint job. We recommend avoiding these areas. If you’re at all concerned we recommend doing a test somewhere discreet.
WHAT ARE INFECTIOUS WALL DECALS MADE OUT OF?
They are made out of a durable and easy-to-remove vinyl material. The adhesive is secure enough to attach it to your wall, but gentle enough so that if you don’t lay it right the first time or if you want to change its position, you can do it easily. Think of it as a very strong and sticky post-it note. But remember the more that you remove and reapply, the less sticky the Wall Decal will become.
WHAT SURFACES CAN I PUT MY WALL DECALS ON?
Infectious Wall Decals like sticking to clean, smooth, interior surfaces like painted dry wall. Do not apply your vinyl to stucco, brick, wallpaper or wooden slats. Wall Decals stick best to paint with matte, satin and gloss finishes. Avoid putting the art in direct sunlight as the heat may affect the adhesive and the sun may affect the colors of the vinyl.
SHOULD I CLEAN MY WALL BEFORE APPLYING MY WALL DECALS?
Yes - dust your wall with a clean cloth before installing your art. If your wall is extremely dirty, clean your wall with warm water only. Do not use any cleaning products. Let the wall dry completely before applying the graphics.
CAN I USE INFECTIOUS ART OUTSIDE?
Nope, sorry, Infectious Wall Decals are not designed for outdoor use.
CAN I INSTALL WALL DECALS IN MY BATHROOM?
Yes, just make sure that you wait for any condensation to dry out completely before installing. Also, be warned that if you don't press the art down firmly and water gets under the vinyl, the adhesive may not last as long.
CAN I INSTALL WALL DECALS IN MY CHILD'S NURSERY?
Yes, but please make sure that you put the vinyl out of the reach of small children.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT AFTER I’VE PAINTED MY WALLS TO APPLY MY VINYL?
Please wait at least 90 days for the paint to fully cure before installation.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO INSTALL?
It depends on your composition choice, but it will take anywhere between 5 - 20 minutes depending on the size.
HOW EASY IS THE ART TO INSTALL?
Infectious Wall Decals are super easy to install. Just make sure for artwork larger than 12" x 12" you have two people installing. Neither of you need any previous experience but you do need to follow the
instructions carefully. The thing you have to be most careful about is removing the art from the backing paper - be careful not to tear the art or let it fold on itself.
WHAT IF I SCREW UP?
If the adhesive touches itself peel it apart immediately and cautiously. If the graphic creases, carefully peel off the wall and start again. The Decal is designed to be repositionable as long as you haven't applied any pressure. So if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I TRY AGAIN IF I SCREW UP?
You can try two or three times, just remember that the adhesive will not be as strong every time you peel it off the wall and try again.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The adhesive will last up to a year, maybe longer if you take good care of it. Though you can peel it off tomorrow and change it up for another Wall Decal design if you want to.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY INFECTIOUS WALL DECALS?
Clean your art with water and a clean cloth, sponge or paper towel. Do not use cleaning products. Our Wall Decals do not have an overlaminate, so strong cleaners may damage the inks in your art.
ARE MY WALL DECALS RE-USABLE?
Decals are designed to be repositionable two or three times if you don't get your ideal position the first time. They are not designed to moved from room to room after several months, but feel free to try. Just keep the backing paper to lay your art back down on to ensure that no dust or dirt attaches to the adhesive. Also remember that the adhesive will not be as powerful and the art may start to curl at the edges.
WHAT DO I DO IF MY DECAL STARTS TO PEEL UP?
If you spot your vinyl peeling up take a clean cloth and firmly press it back down. You don’t want to transfer dirt and oil from your grubby fingers to the wall!
HOW LONG CAN I STORE THE WALL DECAL?
We recommend storing the vinyl flat and installing it within six months of purchase for maximum adhesion. If the temperature and humidity are high in your storage area it may affect the adhesive. Make sure the paper backing never gets wet.
