Installing Infectious Car Art is easy!
When you receive your vinyl, try to restrain yourself from diving right in and sticking it on your car. Read through this Install Basics guide at least once before you begin. Now before you shrug off the suggestion, let us just say... we feel you. We're not the kind of people who read IKEA instruction manuals either. But a car isn't a flat canvas, and our Car Art requires a little more preparation than, say, vinyl wall art.
Set aside up to a couple of hours. Follow the instructions step by step. And we'll change the way you look at cars forever.
Critical things you gotta know before you begin:
- Clean your car. Do not wax. Infectious Car Art doesn't like sticking to dirty or waxy surfaces.
- Do it with a friend or lover. You'll need an extra pair of hands for installing anything larger than 12" x 12".
- Install your art in a toasty garage - away from wind. If you must be outside, keep your car out of direct sunlight on hot days during installation.
- Do not allow the white paper backing to get wet at any time!
- Install and remove the practice piece first, so you can get a feel for things.
- Install your Car Art on mostly flat, painted parts of the car. Stay away from those round areas (bumper corners), moving parts (door handles) and plastic parts.
Check out the Perfect Install page for tips & tricks, like trimming your Car Art to fit door panels.
Infectious Car Art should not damage your car's paint. However, if the paint is already chipped or flaking, if the car has been poorly repainted or if it has a poor quality clear coat, the Infectious product may affect the surface of your car. Infectious is not liable for any damage done to the surface of your car. We recommend installing and removing a small test piece in an inconspicuous area if you are concerned.
Choose the type of a piece you want to install ("large" here means larger than 12"x12")
