You are cordially invited to join us for a little Infectious Tee Party. No formal attire. No crumpets. No jam. Just joyous t-shirt fun. You bring the art and imagination, we bring the cotton, inks and all the other voodoo required to introduce community made t-shirts to the Infectious product line. No themes... it's a wide open field for creativity.
You have till November 4th to delight us with the freshest t-shirt designs ever. Each design gets 5 days of community voting and feedback. We'll be announcing winners over the course of the contest. Out of the designs selected for print, the highest scorer gets a tee-licious $2000 just in time for Christmas. You can buy a whole lot of Earl Grey with that.
Some specific rules for this one...- You must show us your artwork on a t-shirt.
- You can only use 8 colors in your designs (white and black count as colors).
- Metallic inks are allowed.
- We might turn winning designs into device skins or skateboards.
$2000 cash
$100 of Infectious Product 5% of royalties
$100 Infectious Product 5% royalties

@revee and @burbskate For the submission itself (the image that appears in the voting gallery) your image needs to be 650 pixels wide and up to 800 pixels tall. As for the art on the shirt, feel free to size it to whatever size you thinks looks good on the front of the shirt (the design must fit on the front, and not wrap around the body of the shirt). If your design wins and your shirt goes into production, we will size your art as close as possible to your original submission. We have the capabilities to go rather big, so don’t feel restricted by size. |

@earlymemoirs – all of our artists own the rights to their artwork at all times. We only have limited licensing rights to reproduce the art on our products if you win. If you don’t win, then you still own all the rights and we obviously don’t have the licensing rights. If you’d like to read the licensing agreement it can be found here: http://www.infectious.com/learn/teeparty_aa?indent=true&printable=true Hope that helps! |

@pili you can show us your art on the t-shirt template you provide, or you can create your own submission with a personal photo. Any which way you want, as long as we see it on a tee. @design.fool you can submit as many as you like – all we ask is that you space them out of the course of the contest. It’s not fun for the community to have the voting gallery inundated with the work of one artist and the design tends to not do quite so well in voting. Space ’em out but the more the merrier. @ Haggar Indeed! :) @SimoneOne Once the design has gone through its five days of voting then the score and how many votes a design has accrued shows up on the voting page. |

@SIBBY all submissions to this contest need to be composited onto a t-shirt. The artist relations crew have also sen you an email asking you that you move your submission to Critique so that you can get a little feedback from the community on your design. You can re-upload it here: http://www.infectious.com/critique/teeparty/get_started |

I have a little question. I’ve seen some designs close earlier (like mine) then some others that get more time for voting. Does this have something to do with the number of votes a work receives? |
created over 2 years ago
@iwakami that’s because all the t-shirts in our Tee Party design challenge get five days of voting. Sometimes we play around with how long designs are in the voting gallery for different contests. Open submissions currently get two weeks, so you’ll find that any Open Submission designs surrounding your submission will be in voting for longer. Make sense? |
created over 2 years ago
Yup! Makes sense. I guess i didn’t got that clearly. I was thinking about the open submissions settings, and was a little berserk when i saw that there was like 8/9 days until the closure… and suddenly it closes. But i got it now. Thanks for the info :) |

Hey Admins, I was wondering when do you guys announce the winner after one contest ends and how does it basicly work? Thanks in advance! |
created over 2 years ago
Hey JohnnyStakes. Depends on the contest. All of our contests prior to Tee Party have had 2 weeks of voting for every design, so we don’t start selecting winners until the scores are in. We often then have to liaise with judges to get their verdict and then have to get the art in. So typically it’s 3-5 weeks after the contest closes that we announce winners. For this t-shirt design challenge we’ve changed things up a bit and all submissions have 5 days of voting and we also have the option of announcing winners over the course of contest. There’s no limitation on the number of runners up for t-shirts, we look at the community voting and Team Infectious works out which ones they think will sell and that we want to add to the catalog. The contest closes on November 4th and all the voting closes on November 9th. We’ll be launching all the rest of the tee designs in the month of November. Out of the ones that are introduced to the catalog the one with the highest community vote wins the $2000. Does this all make sense? Cheers, Joey |

I’m thinking about doing a type base design. More specifically, I want the design to revolve around a quote. Do I add quotation marks and where I got the quote from on the design? |

Hey Loc. Can you email directly about this? joey@infectious.com. I need to know what the quote is and whether there’s any copyright infringement before giving you advice. Looking forward to seeing your tee design! Joey |

Sorry ladies and gentlemen. We’re doing test prints at the moment. We’ve never done t-shirts before and we want to make sure the quality is top-notch. We don’t have a precise date nailed down for the launch. It will either be in next week or at the very beginning of January. We don’ want to launch right over the Holiday period. Apologies for the delay! We’ll keep you updated here in this thread. |

The votes (and the tees) are in! Huge congrats to our grand prize winner Kirsten McCrea who receives the community vote and a nice holiday bonus of $2000 with her design Take Me With You! And we salute our runners up as well: Alphonzo Solorzano, David Szebenyi, Hollis Brown Thornton and SteveOramA. Team Infectious are already wearing your tees with pride… We received hundreds of stellar submissions – many thanks to all who shared their art! You can still join in the fun over in the Incognito challenge and we’ll be announcing a new (and may we boast, rather unique) contest in the New Year. Stay tuned! |

Just looking at the tees again, noticed most of the larger sizes have already gone or are almost gone. Is that very telling of peoples sizes/needs or did you expect the bigger ones to go (or the smaller ones in some of the ladies cases) Will you stock more larger sizes next time around you think? |
created about 2 years ago
@Rhys we have been selling more large sizes than we expected and yes we’ll definitely be using sales data to work out what the best combination of sizes will be. Looks like people are seeking out a looser fit. Oh and the majority of the hot models are actually Infectious staff :) |
